Emotions as Portrayed on Clara’s Character of The Nutcracker and The Four Realms Film

This study is aimed to find out the portrayal of types of emotion and their positive and negative effects on Clara Stahlbaum’s actions of The Nutcracker and The Four Realms film. The theories of Goleman’s impulses to action and Klarer’s characterization are used to get the answers of the two questions. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative. The data of this study were the dialogues and scenes related to the portrayal of emotions and their positive and negative effects on Clara Stahlbaum’s actions. This study shows the types of emotion on Clara Stahlbaum’s character are anger, fear, happiness, love, surprise, and sadness. These six emotions give positive effects to Clara Stahlbaum’s actions in terms of solving problems and finding her own worth as an individual. However, the negative effects get her to hurt other people. The conclusion of this study points out to the fact that Clara Stahlbaum’s character chooses to express and embrace all her emotions along with their positive and negative effects that play a big role in reaching a better-self state.
