Playing video and online computer games is, as mentioned, a popular activity for many people in today’s society. Online game provided the video game players around the world to gather in one platform in which English as an international language played important roles in uniting these players. This activity then would impact the video game players’s translation ability since they were commonly interacting using English through online game. Therefore, this study aimed to find the translation techniques employed by video game players when they translated English news article into Bahasa Indonesian and their level of translation ability. The second research objective was to find the video game players level of mastery. This study was a descriptive qualitative study which investigating translated artciles created by video game players. Eleven video game players who confirmed their consents in participating in this study gave their translated articles to the researcher for further data analyzing. This study revealed that there were nine translation techniques employed by 11 video game players with each respondent employed four techniques in average. This study also confirm that the most frequent translation technique found was literal translation. For the second objective, the present study revealed that the video game players were varied and most of them were in good level.
