Racism is the belief that some groups are biologically and socially superior to others based on their race . This research analyzed racism and struggle depicted . in BlacKkKlansman film directed by Spike Lee , Published in 2018. This research was conducted using the racism theory by Chaunda L. Scott , and also the struggle of African - Americans using the theory struggle by Lasker and Piter Andre . The researcher used the qualitative descriptive method in this research Furthermore , the data were obtained from a script containing dialogue , words , and sentences shown in the film . The results of this research revealed two types of racism : Individual racism and Institutional racism . Also , the struggle of African - Americans against racism , including : coercion and rejection , domination and escape , subjectification and creation . The highlights of the film BlacKkKlansman represented the racism of white Americans toward black African - Americans and the struggle of black African - Americans against racism depicted in narrations and dialogues by characters in the film .
