Students' Perception of Using Zoom During the Covid-19 Pandemic at the English Department of Mulawarman University

This study aimed to understand students’ perception of using Zoom during the Covid-19 pandemic at the English Department of Mulawarman University. The design of this was a survey research in quantitative design. The sample of this study was 91 fourth-semester students of English Department of Mulawarman University who used Zoom during the online learning process. The data were collected using a perception questionnaire. Based on the research findings, the research question was to know the perception on online learning using Zoom in class. According to the result of the questionnaire data calculation from the students of English language department academic year 2020 According to the result, it can be concluded that there are 4 Very Positive perception (21,05%), 9 Positive perception (47,36%), 6 Negative perception (31,57%) and no Very Negative perception. Overall, it can be concluded that the students’ perception toward using Zoom in class is generally resulting in positive perception (68,41%), indicating the students in question tend to show, maintain, accept, acknowledge, and implements the concept of learning via Zoom that apply in the class with care and reaping the benefit. Positive perception also means the students were taking encouraged stances, which they were willing to involve themselves in using Zoom for learning or in class session because they acknowledge its importance or due to teacher's direction even using it for other reasons like group work or class projects.
