The purposes of this study were to find out the students’ reading interest in a digital era and to find out possible suggestion to improve students’ reading interest in a digital era.
This study was a quantitative study. The samples of the study were 40 students of English Department. The answers of the problems of the study were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman (2018). The instruments of the study were questionnaire from Vera Maulidar (2018). The questionnaire consists of 10 questions.
From the results of the study, it can be concluded that students only read to prepare lessons. They believe reading can improve academic performance. Only a few of them have an interest in reading. From 40 students, 67.5% have an interest in reading. They are aware that reading can improve their achievement, but 47.5% of them spend time reading less than 1 hour. 40% of the total 40 students, read via the internet, in the form of articles, e-books.
