Onasius Pieter Moze Matani. The Management Model of Mangrove Forest Areas In West Papua (Case Study of Mangrove Forest Area Andai, Oransbari and Pulau Rumberpon), guided by Marlon I. Aipassa, SigitHardwinarto and Muhammad Sumaryono. This study aims to examine the Biophysical and Socio-Cultural Potential, Management Plan and Utilization Form to formulate a Strategy or Management Model for Mangrove Areas according to the conditions of eachstudy area. The results showed that based on the 2006-2016 land cover map showed that the biophysical conditions in the three locations were still relatively goodwith land cover above 70%, but specifically the mangrove areas had experienced significant degradation and pressure due to land clearing and high population activities in this region. The condition of the mangrove vegetation in the three regions was dominated by Rhizophora spp. (seedling, sapling and tree levels) both in the mangrove forest of Anda, Oransbari and in Rumberpon Island with different INP values but indicating that the forest area and stands are still quite good. The socio-cultural aspects that affect the three regions are the condition of the population, the level of education, economic conditions, the rule of law and local socio-cultural / customary wisdom that are very influential factors and determine the management and future of the existing mangrove forest area. The recommendations for the formulation of the Mangrove Area Management Model in the three locations are based on SWOT analysis (Strength, Weaknesess, Opportunities, Threats) and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) are Formation and Optimization of Regional Management Institutions through Regional Planning Documents, SocioCultural Values, Government and Community Cooperation to Protecting Regions, Supporting Regional Government and Central Government for Provision of Funds, Infrastructure and Human Resources, and Alternative Interventions for Economic Opportunities for Local Communities and Active Community Engagement in Protecting and Managing Regions.
