LEARNER AUTONOMY DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION OF MULAWARMAN UNIVERSITY
Barokah, U. U. N., 2021 Learner Autonomy during Covid-19 Pandemic in English Language and Education of Mulawarman University. This research is guided by Dr. Yuni Utami Asih, M.Pd as advisor I and Anjar Dwi Astuti, S.S., M.Hum as advisor II.
The purposes of this study is to find what is the level of learning autonomy during COVID-19 Pandemic in English Language and Educationof Mulawarman University. The design of this study was a cross-sectional survey design within quantitative approach. The data were collected using questionnaire developed by Dixon (2011) that was referred as Short List scale. The sample of this study was the fourth semester students of academic year 2019/2020, by total of 87 participants. Furthermore, the data from this study were analyzed with help from SPSS 25 application to find the mean score and to be related with the range standard. The study revealed that English Language and Education students of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Mulawarman University’s level of autonomy is medium with the mean score at M = 3.35 on a five-point scale. This overall medium level of learner autonomy while COVID-19 pandemic implicates that English Language and Education students are coming nearer to have willingness and confidence in taking charge of learning, are coming nearer to have knowledge, skills needed, and engagement in autonomous learning.
