Students' Responses toward the Project-Based Learning Implementation
The purpose of this study was to find out students’ responses and problems when making project during TEFL course. The design of this study was qualitative case study that aimed to interpret the phenomenon happened about students’ responses toward the use of Project-Based Learning in TEFL course. This study used semi-structured interview and students’ reflection as a document from three selected students to collect the data. Research participants were selected using purposive sampling with the criteria that had been prepared by the researcher. The researcher found that students enjoyed Project-Based Learning although the process was hard for them. Students agreed to apply Project-Based Learning in other courses. Students also obtained some knowledge and skills that would help them in their professional life such as creativity, problem-solving, communication, discipline, collaboration, and leadership skills. Those skill related with the skill that 21st century era needed. Students also could share their opinions, ideas, and advices with their friends or lecturer when doing the project with this method. Students also faced some challenges when doing this project such as they had to find out proper facilities to be used for finishing the project. Therefore, it is suggested for lecturers to utilize Project-Based Learning in their classroom practices as it can foster students’ chance to learning while doing.
