The purposes of this study were to know the Internet Usage Level, the writing performance and the correlation between students’ Internet Usage and Writing Performance of fourth semester students’ of English Department at Mulawarman University.
This study was a quantitative study. The samples of the study were 50 students of the fourth semester. The answers of the problems of the study were analyzed by using Pearson product-moment analysis in SPSS 25 Program. The instruments of the study were Internet Usage Level Questionnaire and Writing Performance Tests.
This study revealed the following findings: first, it was found that the mean score of students’ internet usage level was 60.14. among 50 students, most of them had low criterion. Second, it was found that the mean score of students’ writing performance was 7.26. among 50 students, most of them had moderate criterion. Third, there was a positive correlation between internet usage level and writing performance with the result of rc > rt (0.575 > 0.284) and it means that there was a significant correlation between students’ internet usage level and writing performance of fourth semester students of English Department of Mulawarman University. The hypothesis result was, (Ha) of this study was accepted, while the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected means that there was a significant correlation between internet usage level and writing performance. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that internet usage level and writing performance were significant.
