The hero's journey is the journey that has to be passed by the hero on their adventure to finish their mission. This research analyzed about the hero's journey in Thor character in Thor Ragnarok movie. The purpose of this research is to find out about the hero's journey in the main character on Thor Ragnarok movie which is Thor on his journey as the hero to save his people in Asgard. This research used theory of hero's journey by Joseph Campbell that explains about the phases of the hero that must pass on the journey for a mission, Campbell divided the phases into three they are departure, initiation and return which also from those hases also divided into some stages. The stages of departure are call of adventure, refusal of the call, and crossing the first threshold. The stages of initiation are the road of trials, tonement with the father, apotheosis and the ultimate boon. And the stages of return are refusal of the return, resque from without, the crossing of the threshold, master of the world and the last one is freedom of live.
This research used qualitative research. The data of this research is all the scenes, script and dialogue that shows about Thor's journey as the hero based on film and related to Campbell's theory the hero's journey. The result of this research that the researcher found was that Thor has passed all of the stages from the first and second phases which are departure and initiation but from the last phase Thor only passed the three of the except the refusal of the return and crossing of the threshold.
