This research aims to find out the Effect of Teaching English using Duolingo Application on Young Learners Vocabulary Achievement at the Fifth Grade Students at SD Fastabiqul Khairat Samarinda in Academic Year 2019/2020. The design of this research was quasi experimental research which belongs to quantitative method. The population of this research was the fifth grade students of SD Fastabiqul Khairat Samarinda consisting of 48 students, which were divided into two groups, they were 5-D consisted of 24 students who got treatment using Duolingo Application and 5-C consisted of 24 students who got treatment using conventional learning. The instrument of the research was vocabulary test consisted of multiple choice test. Before treatment, pre-test was conducted to both groups. Meanwhile, post-test was conducted after the treatment. Then, the data were analyzed by using t-test SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) for Windows version 26. It was to find out whether there was a significant effect between the results of experimental groups’ post-test and control groups’ post-test.
The result of this research showed that the sig. 2-tailed was .002 in t-test with the significant level 0.05 (α = 0.05) or .002
