Background: Mengkudu leaves (Morinda citrifolia)was reported to contain active flavonoids that have antipyretic effects, using yeast as fever inductions method. However, lack of research that support that ethanol extract of Morinda citrifolialeaves have antipyretic effect and the most effective dose as an antipyretic agents.
Aim: to study antipyretic effects and the most effective dose of ethanol extract of Morinda citrifolialeaves as an antipyretic agents on mice (Mus Musculus) that use yeast as fever inductions method.
Method: The male mice were divided into 5 groups (n = 5): negative control (CMC 0.5%), positive control (0.091 mg / gr BB), dose I (EDMC extract 0.25 mg / gr BB), dose II EDMC extract 0.5 mg / gr BB), and dose III (EDMC extract 1 mg / gr BB) that was given subcutaneously on the mice neck. The themperature of the mice was measured using digital thermometer at minute 0, 60, 120, and 180 after yeast induction.
