Based on the goverment regulation number 14 year 2005, teachers are required to have competences in teaching especially in EFL classroom. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the competence of English teachers in EFL classroom at Muhammadiyah school in Kutai Kartanegara in terms of pedagogical, professional, personality and social competence of three English teachers of Muhammadiyah school in Kutai Kartanegara. Qualitative design which characterized by case study is the design of this study. The data were collected through preconception question, observation, interview and documentation. The participants of the research are two English teachers in the English foreign language classroom in SMK Muhammadiyah Loa Kulu and SMK Muhammadiyah Loa Janan. From the result of research showed that the teachers have pedagogical, professional, personality and social competence. They fulfilled the categories standarized by “Pedoman Pelakasanan Penilaian Kinerja Guru” (2010). Based on the discussion, the researcher concludes that all the teacher should improve their competence by attending the seminars, activating in English teacher’s forum, preparing science textbooks, continuing education, optimizing the supervision of principals, training in use various teaching strategies, training of IT-based media design and conducting action research.
