The Effect of Using Songs in Teaching toward Students’ Vocabulary Mastery of the Seventh Grade Students at SMP Negeri 21 Samarinda in Academic Years 2019/2020


This research was intended to find out the difference between experimental group taught by using songs and control group taught without using songs. This research design was quasi experimental. The population in this studywere the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 21 Samarinda. The sample were 7-E as the experimental group and 7-B as the control group.The numbers of the sample were 30 students. To collect the data, the researcher used vocabulary test. to analyse the data, the researcher used t-test to find out whether singnificantdifference between experimental and control groups. The result of the studyshowed that using songs to the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 21 Samarinda gives the singnificant effect. In, conclusion, this research found the sig. 2-tailed was 0,032 with significant level 0,05 (
