This study concerned on deconstruction of Male Domination inMaleficent movie. The objectives of the study are to investigate further of maledomination which is represented and to find out how male domination isdeconstructed in Maleficent movie. The researcher used deconstruction theory by
Jacques Derrida to answer the research questions. To analysis the study, theresearcher used qualitative as the method to analyze the deconstruction of maledomination. The source of data of this study is Maleficent movie, and the forms ofthe data were the dialogue, narration and acts performed by the characters in themovie. The researcher found the representation of male domination. Those are:men have power, kingdom is led by king, and the existence of true love kiss. The findings showed that there were three binary oppositions that can bedeconstructed. There are between man and woman, king and queen, true love kiss.
This study showed that with deconstruction, researchers acquired deeperunderstanding about patriarchal system and the works of male domination. Thisstudy does not mean to claim that woman should become more dominant than man, but researcher wants to show to the reader the possibilities that man and woman are born equal.
