This research deals with the effect of using English Songs on teaching English as listening learning. The purpose of this research was to found out the student’s listening skill before and after taught through English Song and to know whether there is significant difference of student’s English listening skill before and after taught trhough English Songs to the first grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Sanga-Sanga in Academic Years 2019/2020.
The design of this research was quantitative research and used single quasi experimental design. The population of this research was 140 students and the sample was 29 students from Class X. The researcher used a cloze text test in pre-test and post-test. It was found that the mean score of the first grade students, the students before taught by using English Songs was 79.76 in pre-test and it increased to 87.62 in post-test. It means that there is improvement on students’ listening skill. After analyzing the mean scores by using the program of SPSS 20, it was indicated that there was significant difference of the students taught before and after using English Songs. The computation shows that the mean score of the first grade significantly differed. Thus, the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted an the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It can be concluded that there was significance difference on the listening skill of students who were taught by using English Songs.
