ABSTRACT

The learning process is an important aspect in achieving education. To produce learners who either needed a learning model for the success of the process. This study aims to determine differebces in models of learning probing prompting and problem solving outcomes of students on the subject of the buffer solution in SMA Negeri 3 Samarinda.
The population of this study was XI MIPA students of SMA Negeri 3 Samarinda whereas the samples were 35 students of class XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. This study used cluster sampling technique. Cluster sampling technique is a technique which the sample was taken based on group, not individual and homogeneity test was done to both 2 groups before the study was conducted. Of the probing prompting and problem solving as learning model, the finding of this study is Ftable > Fcalculated (1,67 > 1,58) at significance level 5% and it is known that ttable > tcalculated (1,87 > 0,63), so it is concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted while Ha means there is a difference between the two learning models.
From the result and discussion, the researcher concludes that there is a difference of probing prompting and problem solving as learning style toward achievement of XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2 students of SMA Negeri 3 Samarinda academic year 2014/2015 in addition to buffer solution as subject matter.
