The aim of this research is to describe kind of social deixis that are found in
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and describe the function of each social deixis that found in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. In this research, the researcher takes the data om Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative technique in analyzing the data. The technique of collecting the data that can be used by the searcher is flow model analysis proposed by Miles and Huberman which consists of data reduction, data display and conclusion. There are two kinds of social deixis that get encoded in guages; relational social deixis and absolute social deixis. The researcher found out there are 4 relational social deixis 5 absolute social deixis which is the function of theses social
deixis are is to mark social status of the speaker and addressee which is the main
topic in this novel, to show respect and politeness between characters and references
that generally used to address someone. Based on the result of data, the researcher
also found classification of each character by their social status of character and relationship inter-character in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
