PT Adaro Energy Tbk is a coal mining company located in South Kalimantan, Tabalong and Balangan regency. In Indonesia, PT Adaro Energy Tbk is the second
largest thermal coal producer company that manages and owns the largest single coal mine in the sourthern part of the world. In 2010 PT Adaro Energy Tbk was the first rank as the company that supplies the largest coal for domestic use and was the fifth exporter of coal for the global market. The aim of this study is to find out how the assessment of financial performance of PT Adaro Energy Tbk when using the economic value-added method. The standard of the company’s financial performance using the economic value-added method is if the company has EVA > 0 then there has been added value to the company, otherwise if EVA < 0 shows there has been processed value added at the company and the value of EVA = 0 is indicates the company reakeven position). Research methodology that writer use is descriptive research by analyzing financial reports and report of comprehensive income. PT Adaro Energy Tbk which listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia. Techniques of data analysis are used EVA method (Economic Value Added) by counting NOPAT (Net Operating Profit After Tax), invested capital, WACC (Weighted Average Cost of Capital), EVA (Economic Value Added)). Based on the results of analysis and discussion conducted during the period of study at 2012-2016 by using the EVA method, the result of the value of EVA is fluctuating, whereas 2012, 2014 and 2016 EVA are positive, otherwise at 2013 and 2015 EVA is negative. The creation of Economic value-added for the company does not make a good growth tends to decrease. In this case shows that during the research of management of PT Adaro Energy Tbk has not succeeded in creating economic value-added to the company. It means that the goal of the company to maximize the prosperity of owners and maximalization wealth of stockholders of corporate the value has not been achieved)
